MARIE LAURE PHILOMENE DUHAMEL 23 mai 1909 - 05 decembre 2003 Le desire de Marie de rencontrer son Seigneur fut realise lorsquau Foyer Youville, Sainte-Anne, MB, son ame senvola paisiblement a lage de 94 ans. Elle anticipait la reunion avec ses parents Francois-Xavier Duhamel et Julie Genereux, ses soeurs Clara (John) Butler, Germaine (Paul) Moquin, Irene (Elzear) Ferland et ses freres Antonin et Alphonse (Therese). Elle laisse dans le deuil sa soeur Gertrude (Robert) Roziere, son frere Marcien (Angelina), une belle-soeur Henriette (Antonin), aussi de nombreux neveux et nieces. Marie grandit a Sainte-Anne et Sainte Genevieve et travailla pour plusieurs annees dans les presbyteres: Sainte-Genevieve, Thibaultville, et Aubigny. Marie debutat sa carriere a lHopital General de Saint-Boniface en 1961 lorsquelle a gradue de lEcole Infirmieres Pratiquantes. Elle prit sa retraite en 1974. Elle resida au Foyer Chez-Nous avant de devenir residente au Foyer Youville in 1999. Dans son journal elle ecrivat "Joffre ma journee et ma vie a Dieu". Cette vie precieuse etait remplie de visites avec famille, amies, religieuses et co-travaillantes. Son abilite a la peinture artistique, au jardinage, cannage, metiers, et aux quilles lui ont merite plusieurs trophes. Elle fut benevole a lhopital Saint-Boniface, Festival du Voyageur et membre de chorales de la Cathedrale de Saint-Boniface, Les Intrepides, Choralies et Foyer Chez-Nous. Ses voyages mondials y ont inclus Rome et Israel. Les Prieres seront recitees le mercredi 10 decembre a 19h00 au Salon Mortuaire Desjardins, 357, rue Des Meurons. La messe des funerailles aura lieu le jeudi 11 decembre a 10h30 en la Cathedrale de Saint-Boniface. La famille desire remercier ses nombreux amis pour leur soutiens durant de nombreuses annees. Nous voulons aussi remercier le merveilleux personnel du Foyer Youville, Dr. Gobeil, Soeur Irene Rioux, tout le personnel pour les soins spirtuels et physiques toujours si bien rendus avec compassion et amour. MARIE LAURE PHILOMENE DUHAMEL May 23, 1909 - December 05, 2003 Maries desire to meet her Lord and Saviour was fulfilled as she peacefully surrendered her life at Villa Youville, St. Anne, MB, at the age of 94 years. She had been anticipating a reunion with her parents Frank-Xavier Duhamel and Julie Genereux; her sisters, Clara (John) Butler, Germaine (Paul) Moquin and Irene (Elzear) Ferland; brothers, Antonin and Alphonse (Therese). She leaves to cherish her beautiful memory her sister Gertrude Roziere; her brother Marcien (Angelina) sister-in-law Henriette, numerous nieces and nephews. Marie grew up in Ste. Anne and Ste. Genevieve, and worked many years in rectories of Ste. Genevieve, Thibaultville and Aubigny. She began a career at St. Boniface General Hospital when she graduated in 1961 as a Licensed Practical Nurse, retiring in 1974. In her later years she resided at Foyer Chez-Nous and became a resident of Foyer Youville in 1999. Maries journal indicated a fullness of life as she offered her days and life to God. Her family, friends, religious, and co-workers were all precious to her. Her skills in gardening, canning, weaving, bowling and as an artist resulted in many trophies. She volunteered at St. Boniface Hospital, Festival du Voyageur, and was a valued member of choirs: St. Boniface Cathedral, Les Intrepides, Choralies and Chez-Nous. Her world travelling included Rome and Israel. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, December 10 at 7:00 p.m. from Desjardins Funeral Chapel, 357 Des Meurons St. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 11 at 10:30 a.m. from the St. Boniface Cathedral. Maries family wish to thank her friends for their many years of support. They also extend appreciation to the wonderful personnel of Foyer Youville, Dr. Gobeil. Sr. Rioux and all the nursing staff for the complete spiritual and physical care they consistently exercised towards Marie and family. THANK YOU!
