Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLENA HALGREN (nee KOPP) Lena Halgren passed away peacefully on December 7, 2003, at Pine Falls Hospital. Lena, 89, was predeceased by her husband Thor, and by her brothers, Otto, Paul and Edward, and sisters, Olga, Elsie and Johanna. She will be sadly missed by her two sons, Thor Jr. and Glenn (Cathy) her grandchildren, Michael, Leanna, Keri and Trevor; and by her brother George (Irma) Kopp; sisters-in-law, Elsie Kopp and Irene Kopp, as well as many relatives and friends. Lena was born on June 21, 1914 in the New Home district near Moosehorn. In her early twenties, she moved from the farm to Winnipeg. She soon found a job at the seniors home in Middlechurch where some of her happiest times were spent. Lena met Thor and after marrying in 1942, they moved to the Victoria Beach area where they worked together in the fishing business for over 50 years. She enjoyed having people drop in and opened her home to many visitors, both family and friends alike. For past-time she liked to play cards, especially whist and skipbo. Lena had a strong will and her faith carried her to the end. The family would like to thank the homecare workers and the staff of the Pine Falls Hospital for the excellent care they gave her in her final weeks. A celebration of her life will take place on Wednesday, December 10 at the St. Michaels Church in Victoria Beach at 2:00 p.m. Viewing will be one hour prior to service.
