ANNE JUPIN (nee PALEY) With deepest sorrow, our family announces the untimely passing of our beloved mother and grandmother, Anne on Saturday, December 6, 2003 at the Seven Oaks General Hospital. Mom will be deeply missed by her devoted family, son Dan and wife Heather; daughter Iris and husband Bill; daughter Patty and husband Bruce; and son John; grandchildren, Tannis, Stephen, Sean, Jonathan, Erin and Kyla. She will also be missed by her sister Olga and husband Sidney Maleski and brother William Paley; her nephews, Larry and Darrell Maleski and their families; as well as numerous relatives in Manitoba and Ontario. She was predeceased by her husband Ted of 48 years in May of this year; infant son Joseph, and her parents, Stefan and Effie Paley. Mom was born on July 1, 1931 in Sarto, MB, the eldest of three children born to Stefan and Effie Paley. She received her education in Sarto and worked hard on the family farm. When she was 20 years old she moved to Winnipeg and worked in a sewing factory, then at Swift Canadian, canning baby foods. She met Dad in 1951 and they were married October 9, 1954. In her earlier years, Mom was very ambitious. She always had food and baking for unexpected company and did embroidery, cross stitch, and painstakingly sewed tap dance and Ukrainian dance costumes for her children till the last detail was in place. Mom was giving of her time, dedicating several years to teaching the Ukrainian language and catechism at our church. She also canvassed door to door for charities, and earned her 30-year pin as a volunteer at Tache Nursing Home. Leisure time was found for her love of bowling with the church league. Trophies were proudly placed on the fireplace mantel. Our family enjoyed many trips to eastern and western Canada and parts of the United States, and countless visits in the city and country with relatives and friends. Through the years, Moms religious faith, love and support from family and friends, gave her the strength to overcome many bouts of ill health. She always challenged lifes adversities. Prayers will be said Friday, December 12 at 7:00 p.m. in Sts. Peter & Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, 390 Marion St., with Fr. John Mostivsky and Deacon M. Jacyna officiating. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13 in St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church, Sarto, MB with Rev. John Mostivsky officiating. Interment will follow at St. Michaels Cemetery, Sarto. We thank Marge Michalsky and Anne Moroz for helping Mom in the past several years. Thank you to the staff at Seven Oaks General Hospital. Special thanks to Dr. Greg Wilson who fought to treat the compounding problems that arose daily in Moms struggle to recover. The attentive manner in which he dealt with our familys concerns, both before and after her passing, is heartfelt. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of ones choice. Till memory fades and life departs, You will live forever in our hearts. God Bless you Mom and Baba VICHNAYA PAMYAT Arrangements are in care of Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach, MB
