MICHAEL KROCHENSKI Peacefully surrounded by his loving family, our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on December 8, 2003 at the Arborg and District Health Center. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 60 years, Margaret; his children, Ronald (Linda), Florence (Freddie), Violet (Barry), Garry, Linda (Edward) and Leona (Wayne). He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren, Tammy (Bobby), Nancy (Rocky), Jason, Brandy (Justin), Donna (Kevin), Lisa (Patrick), Claudia, Adam, Grant; and great-grandchildren, Brandon, Sarah, Dylan and Jordin; brother Leon (Walter) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Dad was born January 16, 1919 in the Kreuzberg (Fraserwood) area. Dad married mom in 1943 and they lived and farmed in Fraserwood until 2002 at which time he moved to the Arborg Personal Care Home. Dad was a kind and gentle person who never had an unkind word for anyone. His main focus was his family. Family dinners and holidays were always special to him. Dad enjoyed the simple things in life. He had a special appreciation for outdoors and loved working with his hands. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and playing cards (King Pedro). He was predeceased by his parents, Frank and Barbara Krochenski; brother Ben and sister Rose. The family expresses their heartfelt thanks to the Arborg District Homecare personnel and Dr. E. Van Wyk and staff at the Arborg Hospital for the professional and compassionate care and comfort they provided Dad. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 11 at 10:30 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Gimli, with Fr. Peter Chorney officiating. Viewing will be held one-half hour prior to service time. Interment to follow in St. Francis Cemetery, Fraserwood, MB. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Arborg Personal Care Home. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk, in care of arrangements.
