KATRINA "KATIE" YENDRYS (nee TKACKUK) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear mom, grandmother and great-grandmother. Katrina Yendrys passed away peacefully at Kildonan Personal Care Home with her family by her side on Sunday, December 7, 2003. Katie was born on November 21, 1917 in the community of East Stuartburn, MB. She grew up in the Gardenton area then moved to Winnipeg where she married Mike and raised her family of six children. Katie was a woman of small stature with a big heart. She had a strong will and an independent mind. Friends and family were always welcome in her home on any occasion. No one left her home hungry. "Eat. Eat." is a phrase by which she will always be remembered. Katie loved working in her small yard. There was no space there that didnt grow something. She stayed in her home until the maintenance became a problem then she moved into an apartment. Her final two years were spent at Kildonan Personal Care Home where she received exceptional love and care. Left to cherish her memory are daughters, Betty Jean Bouchard of Vancouver, Rose Ann (Hugh) Christensen of Calgary and Lorraine (Dave) McBain of Winnipeg; sisters, Annie and Doris, both of Winnipeg and their families. Katie was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1976 and her son Eugene in 1998. Special thanks to all the great staff at Kildonan Personal Care Home. A family graveside service will take place at Brookside Cemetery. Calm and peaceful she is sleeping Blessed rest that follows pain, We who loved her sadly miss her And trust in God to meet again.
