DOUGLAS HENRY MITCHELL "MITCH" It is with deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Douglas Mitchell at the Health Sciences Centre, Thursday morning, December 11, 2003. Doug will be sadly missed by his wife Phyllis, whom he shared 55 years with. He will also be missed by his daughter Dale (Gord) Patterson; granddaughters, Dawn (Brent), Shannon (Jarret) daughter Cheryl (Mike) Fitzpatrick; granddaughters, Jacquie (Chris), Meghan; great-grandson Kael; sister Barbra (George) Forzley; nieces, nephews and their families and many friends. He was born November 19, 1922 in Winnipeg where he grew up. Doug served in the RCAF 410 "Cougar" Squadron overseas during the Second World War. When he returned, he worked with his fathers company Banning Fuel. Later he worked for the City of Winnipegs Steam Plant, finally retiring from Great West Life after over 25 years of service. In recent years, Doug took pleasure in organizing events and keeping in touch with members of the 410 RCAF Squadron Association. He will be remembered for his sense of humour and never forgetting peoples names and faces. At Dougs request, a private service was held.
