ANNIE (ANN) SWEETLAND (nee HARNESS) It is with utmost sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother and grandmother, Ann Sweetland at Fred Douglas Lodge (Willow Unit) on Wednesday, December 10, 2003 at the age of 89 years. Predeceased by her husband Percy William in 1991; sisters, Georgina and Emily and her brother Bill. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Carol (Fred) Manness, Grace (Bob) Swaffer; grandchildren, Stuart (Rhonda), Robbie and Shaun and her great-grandson Devan; her brothers, Lloyd (June), and Alf of Brandon; her sister Louise in North Battleford; as well as relatives and friends. Mom was born in Edwin, MB on December 7, 1914 to Frederick and Georgina Harness. After attending school in Portage la Prairie, she moved to Winnipeg. Mom and Dad met in Winnipeg and they were married in 1936. Mom was a very caring and kind person who always could find the best in everyone. Over the years, Mom was called on to look after members of the family. The door was always open to lend a hand to someone. Her family was most important to her. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to members of Fred Douglas Lodge and in particular, all the staff on Willow Unit who made Moms stay so very comfortable over the last 10 years. Service will be held on Monday, December 15 at 12:30 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Pallbearers will be Robert Sweetland, Raymond Sweetland, Sandy Will, Ronald Swaffer, Gordon Wanke and Peter Unger. Honorary pallbearer, Robert Pakuliak. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent St., Winnipeg, MB R2L 1X3 or St. Barnabas Anglican Church, 730 McPhillips St., Winnipeg, MB R2X 2H8. Heaven is a promise of peace, love and eternal life for each one who believes. "Rest in Peace Mom - We love you" Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
