LEONA ALARIE (nee SABOURIN) Paisiblement, entouree de son epoux et de ses enfants, est decedee Leona Alarie, le 12 decembre 2003 a lage de 71 ans. Elle laisse dans le deuil son mari Celestin et ses cinq enfants, Diane (Raymond Desrochers), Gisele (Gilbert Verrier), Pauline (Kevin VanDeWalker), Robert (Maryvonne) et Claudette (Blair Harrison), ainsi que neuf petits-fils et neuf petites-filles. Elle laisse aussi quatre soeurs et deux freres, plusieurs belles-soeurs, beaux-freres, neveux, nieces et amis chers. Leona etait la cadette dune famille de treize enfants, jumelle de Leon. Elle a toujours ete devouee a son epoux et a sa famille. A lete, nous avons eu le bonheur de celebrer ensemble leur 50e anniversaire de mariage. Sa passion pour la musique etait evidente dans son amour pour le violon, le piano et le chant. Leona trouvait sa force et son inspiration grace a sa foi fervente en Dieu, perpetuee en nous. Plusieurs lont connu pour son amour sans pareil. Sinceres remerciements au personnel du Centre Tache. Un merci tout speciale au docteur K. Coates. La messe des funerailles sera celebree le mercredi 17 decembre a 14h en la Cathedrale de Saint-Boniface suivie dune reception. Au lieu de fleurs, un don peut etre fait a la memoire de Leona a la Societe de lAlzheimer, 10-120 rue Donald, Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. La direction des funerailles de Leona Alarie a ete confiee au Salon mortuaire Desjardins, 233-4949 ou sans frais 1-888-233-4949. LEONA ALARIE (nee SABOURIN) Peacefully, on Friday, December 12, 2003, surrounded by her loving family, Leona Alarie passed away at the age of 71 years. She will be forever missed by her husband, Celestin; and her five children; Diane (Raymond Desrochers), Gisele (Gilbert Verrier), Pauline (Kevin VanDeWalker), Robert (Maryvonne), Claudette (Blair Harrison) as well as nine grandsons and nine granddaughters. She also leaves to mourn four sisters and two brothers; many other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; nephews, nieces and dear friends. Leona was the youngest of a family of 13 children, twin of Leon. She was a loving wife and a caring mother. We happily celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 20. She had a lifelong passion for music. Leona enjoyed playing the piano, violin and singing. Her great faith in God gave Leona strength and inspiration; this is her legacy to us all. She loved unconditionally and touched so many lives. We wish to thank the staff at Tache Centre for the compassionate care given to Leona. A special thanks to Dr. K. Coates. Funeral mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 17 at the St. Boniface Cathedral, 190 Cathedral Ave., Winnipeg. A reception at the church hall will follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2.
