CORNELIUS (CORNIE) MILES CARPENTER 1921 - 2003 Peacefully, with his family by his side, Cornie passed away at Victoria General Hospital, December 9, 2003. He was a member of Khartum Temple, Khartum Flag Patrol, Acacia Lodge No. 111, Mount Carmel Preceptory No. 44, Prince of Wales Chapter R.A.M. No. 11, and The Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 97. He is survived by his wife Violet; son Paul, daughter-in-law Louise and grandchildren, Allan and Michelle of St. Paul, AB and Danielle of Moose Jaw, SK; brother John and sister-in-law Lil; and sister Betty. Cornie was predeceased by his parents, Mary Charlotte and James Henry; brothers, Bill and Albert; and sisters, Mary and Kay. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Victoria General Hospital for their care and compassion during Cornies stay there. Many people were involved but we would be remiss if we did not name these in particular, James, Linda and Heather. They were such a comfort to Cornie and us. Cremation has taken place and in compliance with Cornies wishes, there will be no formal service. A private family service will be held. If friends so desire, a donation in Cornies memory may be made to the Khartum Temple Burn Unit at 1155 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3P 1B9, or a charity of your choice.
