Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCATHERINE MARY WALKER (MACDONALD) Peacefully on December 11, 2003 at River East Personal Care Home. Cathie will be lovingly remembered by her daughter Joanne (Ron) by her two grandsons, of whom she was so proud, Grant (Monique) and Brent (Shauna) her precious great-grandchildren, Kelsey, Lee, Alyssa, and Blake Gillan; her brother George; sister-in-law Tillie; nephew Don in Winnipeg; niece Linda (Steve) nephews, Don (Julie), Bruce (Ginny), Scott (Debbie) and their families in California; and special friends, Carol McOuat and Pat Piper. Cathie was predeceased by her beloved husband Jack (Jonny) Walker (October 16, 1967) her parents Angus and Jessie; her brother Donald (killed in action during the Second World War) her brother Isaac; and sister-in-law Bernice. Cathie was born in Glasgow, Scotland on September 14, 1912 coming to Winnipeg as a young child. She was married to Jack on August 19, 1939. She was always very proud of her Scottish heritage and actively participated in the United Scottish (over 50 years), the Gaelic Society, The White Heather Concert Tours and the Sons of Scotland. Cathie was a member of the Fort Rouge Legion BR97, and enjoyed Bingo and the races over the years. She also enjoyed many trips south to the various casinos - thanks to her many friends for making these trips possible. Cathie had an extended career at Eatons and was known to many as the "Time Card" lady for all her years in the Time Office. The family would like to thank all of Cathies friends at 64 Nassau for their care and concern over the years and to the wonderful staff at the River East Personal Care Home for their loving care and compassion over the past year. She was always very thankful for your great care. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 2B7 or the Shrine Transportation Fund, 1155 Wilkes Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3P 1B9.
