BRIAN DANIEL SHINKARIK "SHANE" December 22, 1939- December 12, 2003 With his family at his side, Brian was taken from us on Friday, after a battle with throat cancer. He was predeceased by his parents, Steve and Jean. He will be sadly missed by his son Todd and wife Polyxeni; Todds mother Judy; his brother Robert and wife Paulette; his sister Peggy Arnold and husband Wayne and other family and friends. Brian, better know as "Shane" was a great singer and entertainer in his youth and sang with the groups, the Sherwoods and the Angels. Most of Brians career was spent as a salesman...a career in which he excelled and made many friends. He enjoyed coaching hockey at the Glenwood Community Club in St. Vital during Todds younger years, and will be remembered for his love of music and fishing. Brian will be missed at family gatherings, where he entertained everyone with his great sense of humour and his singing. Before his passing, Brian spent many days with his best friend Werner Frank having lunch and going to the casino. He also spent time with his good old friend John Colburn singing some of his favourite songs and watching old videos of Brian singing with his friends. In spite of his illness with cancer, Brian was able to carry on with his life. "Shane" will be forever in our hearts, and will always be remembered as a man who "did it his way". Cremation has already taken place and a memorial service will be held at 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 20 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044
