ANNIE ELSIE BELL (nee BESSANT) Annie Elsie Bell, wife of the late Harry Bell, passed away on December 13, 2003 at the Tudor Home in Selkirk at the age of 90 years. Annie was born on the family farm in the Riverside Municipality in the Lily Hill School District between Wawanesa and Dunrea, MB. At the tender age of 16 she started working on a farm as a maid and farmhand. Growing up in the 1920s and 1930s was hard because of the depression. She worked in the Northfield School district where she met Harry at a school dance and it was love at first sight. They married in January of 1934 and had their first child George, a year later and in the following years had Clara, John, and Arthur. She is survived by son George (Joan), David, Patricia, Tiffany, Michael, Jennifer and Jamie; son John (Melvina), Brent, Jennifer, Mercede, Leanne; daughter Clara (Brian) and Donna; son Arthur (Pat), Jennifer, Jay, Jacob, Justin, Sarah, Brendan, Jeremy and Amy. Prayers will be said on Wednesday, December 17 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 18 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk with Rev. Matthew Brough officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Clements Cemetery.
