GARRY LEONARD GOODRIDGE February 27, 1921 - December 13, 2003 It is with deep sorrow the family announces the passing of Garry Leonard Goodridge on December 13, 2003. He was born in Austin, MB, oldest child of the late Henry and Betty (Poyser) Goodridge. Garry is survived by Eva (Duncan) Goodridge, his loving wife of 57 years. He was a devoted loving father and grandfather of sons, Dennis, Osoyoos, BC, Gordon (Heather) and their family, Kyle, Krista and Eric; daughter Heather and family, Cori (Scott) McLennan, Janelle and Daniel Landry; and great-granddaughters, Breanna and Jenna McLennan of Winnipeg; sisters, Dorothy (Roy) Hotel, Comox, BC, Gwen (Orval) Troop, Portage la Prairie. Several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. Garry served in the RCAF from 1942 to 1946. The first few years of married life were spent in Brandon and Rivers, as an employee of Canadian National Railway. In 1957, Garry was transferred to Winnipeg where he worked until retirement in 1986. During the winter months he enjoyed curling and during the summer months he could be found on the golf course. He enjoyed woodworking and among family he is fondly remembered as a willing "Mr. Fix-it". His work of art is the construction of windmills displayed in the backyards of family members. Garry was a lifetime member of Immanuel United Church, and spent many enjoyable hours as a member of the choir. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Immanuel Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be Kyle Goodridge, Eric Goodridge, Dan Landry, Scott McLennan, Brad Pickering and Allan Semkiw. Honorary Pallbearers will be John Van Benten, Douglas Duncan, James Duncan, Erle Duncan, Orval Troop and Roy Hotel. The family considers those in attendance as honorary pallbearers. A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 19, at 2:00 p.m. at Immanuel United Church, 755 Golspie St., East Kildonan.
