RUBY ANNE LIDSTONE The family is saddened to announce the passing of Ruby Anne Lidstone on Sunday, December 14, 2003 at the age of 85, having struggled with failing health the last few years. Family was very important to Mom. She was the best mother and grandmother to her sons, Harry (Judi), Barry (Susan) and daughter Janice (Roland) and granddaughter Meagan. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Mom was predeceased by her husband Harry in 1982, her parents, Sarah and Grant Vallis, brothers, Bill and Edward, sister Bernice and sisters-in-law, Laura Vallis, Dorothy Chettle, Edith McDougall, Stella Wright, Helen Kelley and Nora Hinds. Mom spent most of her working years in retail sales managing for Reitmans, Rickis and earlier with Kresges and K-mart. Mom developed many lasting friendships throughout her life and always enjoyed a good laugh. Mom took great pride in her home and loved spending time in her yard. She loved to travel and always looked forward to her special road trips to Las Vegas with Betty, Brent and Dana. Moms last years were spent at East Park Manor and through these difficult times valued visits with her family and friends. We would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Park Manor for their kindness, generosity and support during her stay. The service to celebrate Rubys life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 18 at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Park Manor Personal Care Home, 301 Redonda St. Winnipeg, MB R2C 1L7.
