She was predeceased by her son Denis; four brothers, Emile, David, Albert, Gerard and two sisters, Josephine and Marie; four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Solange, daughter of Telesphore Fillion and Anna Baril, was born on August 6, 1920 in St. Jean-Baptiste. She grew up in St. Jean-Baptiste and Arnaud. In 1943, she married Albert Berard and they farmed near Ste. Elizabeth for 49 years. They then lived in Morris for seven years and moved to St. Norbert in 2000. This past summer they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Mom was well known for her "joie de vivre", her gift of hospitality, constantly giving of herself to her family and friends. She always had kind words for everyone, loved her music, gardening, quilting for her grandkids, playing cards, croquignole. She loved nature, especially sunsets. Her positive outlook kept her strong through many trials in life. We will always remember her as a very devout woman, having deep inner strength and faith, and having such great love for her husband. The family extends their thanks to Wendy, Teena and Denise at the Victoria General Hospital for the care given to our mother. Funeral mass will be celebrated at the St. Norbert Roman Catholic Church in St. Norbert, MB on Friday, December 19 at 11:00 a.m. Viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m. The service will terminate at the church. Private interment of Solanges cremated remains will take place in the St. Jean-Baptiste Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Solanges memory to the Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation, Ste. 200 - 6 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6.
