(MARY) MINERVA BURGESS (nee RICHARDS) Peacefully, on Sunday, December 14, 2003, Mary Minerva Burgess passed away at the Health Sciences Centre in her 86th year. Minerva was the beloved wife of James Fuller Burgess; loving and caring mother of Rosalee Edwards (Peter Whitworth) and Dr. Edward McCauley (Diane Laflamme) devoted grandmother of Trevor Edwards, Carrie Edwards (Brent Bordyniuk) and Alec McCauley; great-grandmother to Zachary and Joshua; stepmother to Terry Burgess, Joanne Burgess; fondly remembered sisters-in-law, Ina (Clifford), Dorothy (Kenneth) and by many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Richards (Cook) brothers, Clifford, Lynden, Kenneth, John, Gerald and infant sister Janet. Minerva was the President of the CUPE Local 576, Ottawa Civic Hospital for many years. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 18 at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Minervas memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
