CAROLINE ELIZABETH LISOWAY April 15, 1925 - December 15, 2003 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our beloved Carol Lisoway, suddenly on Monday, December 15, 2003 at the Health Sciences Centre. Left to mourn her passing and cherish her memory is her loving husband of 57 years, Mike; children, Kenny, Peggy, Linda (George), Judy and David (Cheryl). She will also be lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; four sisters; four brothers; numerous nieces and nephews; as well as many friends. Carol was born in St. Elizabeth, MB and because of her loving and caring nature, she unselfishly returned many times to the farm to help the family whenever she felt they needed her help or support. She married Mike on September 30, 1946 and the family moved to Springfield, MB, where they felt the children would have a better childhood. She worked at Elmhurst Golf Course as a cook for many years until the move to Saskatchewan, when Mike was transferred by his job. She made many friends in the area because of her warm, open and loving personality. For many years Mike and Carol travelled the world extensively. These experiences gave her many enjoyable moments, memories of sights, cultures and lasting friendships. Their final move was back to Winnipeg where the family resides today. The family would like to thank Dr. Roser and nursing staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their kindness and care during her short stay. Flowers gratefully declined and donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19 at 1:00 p.m. at the Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St. with Pastor Neill Stitt officiating. Interment to follow immediately at the Elmwood Cemetery. Those we love dont go away, They walk beside us every day, Unseen, unheard, but always near. You went through so much in silence, Your spirit didnt bend, You faced your pain with courage, Until the very end. It broke our hearts to lose you, But you didnt go alone, For part of us went with you, The day Creator called you home. A heart of gold stopped beating Working hands at rest. Leaves and flowers may wither, The golden sun may set, But the hearts that loved you dearly Are the ones that wont forget. We Love You Mom Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
