Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGEORGE ALFRED MANNELL It is with great sadness that the family of George Mannell announces the passing of their beloved step-dad, grandpa and great-grandpa on Monday, December 15, 2003 at the age of 83 years. George was born on February 9, 1920. At a young age he left Winnipeg to serve in the Second World War. He spent five years overseas in the Ordinance Division. Upon his return he had a lengthy career of 34 years with Gypsum Lime and Alabastine. It was there that he met and wed the love of his life, Mary. They truly had 41 years of love and devotion. Together they shared a passion for traveling. They were members of St. Peters Church and Seniors 61. George was a gentle, quiet man who enjoyed the simple things in life, like walking his dog Cuddles, feeding the squirrels at Kildonan Park, watching T.V. and taking afternoon drives to Lockport. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his stepchildren, Anita, Rose (Jack), Cyril (Betty) and Ray (Pauline), as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his many friends and neighbours at Willow Park East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, December 18, at 10:00 a.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Following the service, George will be laid to rest at Brookside Cemetery beside his wife Mary.
