Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryABRAHAM (ABE) JOSEPH LEDOUX January 9, 1932 - December 15, 2003 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, husband, father, uncle, grandfather, great-grandfather, Abraham (Abe) Joseph Ledoux on December 15, 2003, at the Winnipegosis Hospital. Abe was born on January 9, 1932, in Duck Bay. He was raised here by his parents Napoleon Paul Ledoux and Ste. Anne (Mary Ann) Ferland. Abe lived his life looking after the needs of his family. Being a man of all trades, from a trapper, commercial fisherman, social worker, logger, nutritional advisor, probation officer, community development researcher, mayor, guide, and for the Fisheries department of Natural Resources as a hatchery helper, Abe did what was required to meet the basic needs of his family. Lastly Abe was a politician, participating in the first Local Manitoba Metis Federation in Duck Bay. He accumulated many lasting friendships throughout his political years. First and foremost, Abe believed in conservation and taking only what you needed, sharing with those in need, giving a helping hand and supporting family, friends and neighbours alike. Abe loved the outdoors with expeditions in the summer to Kettle Hills to pick blueberries during its heyday, and more recently during winter, to his cabin at Pelican Lake for trapping. Abe loved to laugh and have a good time. His love of playing the fiddle, which he learned by ear, brought much enjoyment to family and friends. He was predeceased by his father Napoleon Paul Ledoux; sisters, Victoria Ledoux and Myrtle Tanner; one brother Leonard; grandson Sheldon Dion Thompson; and granddaughter Hailey Shelby Scott. He leaves to cherish his memory, surviving mother Ste. Anne (Mary Ann) Ledoux of Duck Bay; aunt Florence Chartrand (Duck Bay) brothers and sisters, Irene St. Goddard (Dryden), Violet Campbell (Duck Bay), Rose Cryderman (Swan River), Julius Ledoux (Duck Bay), Christine Guttormson (Winnipeg), Johnny Ledoux (Dauphin), Mary-Ann Feinberg (New York), William Ledoux (Winnipeg) and Jane Moreau (Camperville).
