JOAQUIM DA SILVA LOPES February 14, 1920 - December 17, 2003 Peacefully, Joaquim Da Silva Lopes passed away on December 17, 2003 at Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 83 years. Profoundly missed by his wife Eduarda; daughter Maria de Fatima (Joaquim) De Sousa; son John (Ana) Lopes and daughter Margaret (Robert) Rocha; five grandchildren, Paulina (Roy), Marques, Sandy and Joe Lopes, Diana and Robert (Bobby) Rocha; great-grandson Andrew Steven Marques; two sisters, Angela and Gloria; one brother Luis, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Jose Manuel Correia Lopes. Joaquim immigrated to Canada in 1957 from Acores and settle in Winnipeg. Dad was one of 12 children born to Angela de Jesus Silva and Ernesto Paulo Lopes. We will always remember the words of our Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather. God Bless You and Me too. Forever loved and missed by us all! Prayers will be said on Friday, December 19 at 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 20 at 1:00 p.m. at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin St. with Rev. Fr. Jose Eduardo Medeiros officiating. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery.
