Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN THOMAS HOPKINS Peacefully, in his sleep, John Thomas Hopkins (Tommy) passed away on December 17, 2003, at his residence. He had just celebrated his 75th birthday. Tommy was born in Elm Creek, MB, on December 7, 1928. He grew up in Elm Creek and eventually settled in Winnipeg (Fort Garry) where he worked as an auto painter. He retired in 1993. Tommy proudly served in Korea with the P.P.C.L.I. and was a long-standing member of the Fort Garry Legion. His interests included hunting and fishing, and he was always willing to give other people a helping hand. Tommy is survived by his three children, Cathy, Cindy and Brian; two grandchildren, Tommy and Lisa; his sisters, Gladys Reid and Joan Hargest (Albert) his brothers, Laurie (Thelma) and Donald (Jackie) his sister-in-law Hazel; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Earl; and his brother-in-law Jim Reid. Family members and friends will sadly miss him. In accordance with Tommys wishes, cremation has taken place. At a later date, there will be a family gathering at the Hopkins Homestead in Elm Creek. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Wildlife Federation, 70 Stevenson Rd., Winnipeg, MB.
