Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTANLEY GILBERT BARON Stanley Gilbert Baron of Vernon, BC, died peacefully at Hospice House on December 13, 2003 at the age of 80 years. Stan was born in Poland and came to Canada with his family settling on a farm at Mundare, AB. He served in the Royal Canadian Air Force in the Second World War. On January 23, 1947 Stan joined Canadian Pacific Airlines. During his 35-year career with the airline he worked in several cities in Northern British Columbia, Whitehorse, Vancouver, Edmonton, Winnipeg, and Calgary. After retiring Stan and Lorna moved to Vernon in 1985. Stan is survived by his loving wife Lorna; his children, Lynda Trenholm (Gordon), Jean McKenzie (Robert) of Winnipeg, MB, Robert of Calgary, AB, and Barbara McAllaster (Robert) of Kailua, Hawaii; grandchildren, Robert, Julie, Daniel, and Mary Jane of Winnipeg, and Mitchell, Kiana, Chris and Sarah of Kailua, Hawaii. Stan is also survived by his sisters, Jo Salamandick, Nell Kureluk; and his brother Robert (Jeanette) of Edmonton, AB; and many nieces and nephews. Stan was predeceased by his parents, Karol and Anne Baron; his infant son David; and brother Bernard. Prayers were held at St. James Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass was held at St. James Roman Catholic Church (2607 - 27th Street), Thursday, December 18, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Martin Peyton presiding. There will be a Memorial Mass in Winnipeg at Christ the King Parish (847 St. Marys Road) at 7:00 p.m. on December 22, 2003. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice House, 3506 - 27th Avenue, Vernon, BC V1T 1S4. Arrangements by Vernon Funeral Home (250) 542-0155.
