HAZEL BOAZ (POYSER) Hazel Boaz of Vancouver, born December 20, 1918 on a farm in Forrestville, MB passed away on December 18, 2003. Predeceased by her parents, Rueben and Edna Jane Poyser; sister Barbara; husband Robert and brother in-law Morris Hay. She was our strength and will be greatly missed by sister Audrey Hay; daughters, Barbara Barnswell, Linda Boaz and son Jim Boaz. Cherished by her son in-law Allen Barnswell and daughter in-law June Boaz, she was also a much loved grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jay, Brett, Blake, Katherine, Daniel, Amanda, Barbara and Danielle will miss her. Lovingly remembered by niece Betty Jean Berry and her family, nephew John Hay and many other family members and friends. Mom spent her life teaching, from one room schools until retirement from MacGregor Elementary in Manitoba in 1983. She loved children and her happiest days were spent with students, friends and family. Mom always set a good example for her children. She returned to university later in life to complete her degree and learned to drive at age 58. She taught us to persevere and that we could accomplish our goals. Her love of learning, giving and participating continued with her retirement to B.C. Here she made many new friends through activities in the church, Silver Harbour, Eldercollege and other organizations. She enjoyed family, friends, dancing, telling stories, laughing and learning. A memorial service will be held in Lynn Valley United Church, 3201 Mountain Hwy., North Vancouver at 1:30 p.m. on December 30. Mom believed in giving if you could, so in lieu of flowers, if you wish, please make a donation to a charity or organization of your choice. Inevitably, it will be one Mom supported. You were my strength when I was weak You were my voice when I couldnt speak You were my eyes when I couldnt see You saw the best there was in me Lifted me up when I couldnt reach You gave me faith cause you believed Im everything I am Because you loved me
