Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE ELIZABETH CONGER (nee HOBAN) Peacefully on Tuesday, December 23, 2003, after a brief illness, at Seven Oaks Hospital, our beloved mother left this world to join her husband Robert, who was predeceased on September 20, 1987. Born in Winnipeg on May 12, 1923, Mum was the daughter of the late James and Mary Hoban of the village of Brooklands. Mum received her education at the Red School in Brooklands and lived in the area all her life. Our mother was a hard worker. For many years, Mum worked at the Fairfields Woolen Factory, Brooklands and Waldorf Hotels as a cook, Woolworths downtown and Western Smallwares. Our Mum was a loving mother and grandmother. Mum was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. She always dreamed of visiting Ireland and the places where her parents were born. "Fly freely over those green valleys now, Mum". In her younger years, Mum was blessed with a beautiful singing voice and will be remembered for her harmonizing in St. Patricks Church choir. During her later years, Mum spent countless hours in her garden. Vegetables for all who came by and flowers were her pride and joy. Many folks passing by would stop to admire the flower garden graced with lilies and gladioluses. Mum will be missed forever by her four children, Kathleen (Bill), Joanne (Dave), Bob (Alice) and Valerie (Lyn). Loved and dearly missed by her grandchildren, Cyndi, Sangeeta, Doug (Jean), Joanne (Roger), Maureen (Mike), Carolyn (Sean), Ken (Marcey), Shannon, Andrea, Sheri (Shawn), Heather, Ryan, Patrick and Erin. Missed by her great-grandchildren, Meagan, Michael, Cody, Brittany, Jessica, Nicholas, Karlye, Matthew, Julie, Amber, Jared, Torri, Tyra, Raegan and Keira. She is survived by brothers, Lawrence (Evelyn), Terry (Shirley), Dennis (Maryanne) sisters, Ellen, Nora (Stan my man), Mary; sisters-in-law, Shirley, Rae and Margaret. Mum was predeceased by brothers, James, Stanley, Gregory, Frank and sisters, Kay and Maggie. A special thanks to Mums sister-in-law and neighbour, Stella Conger who kept close contact with Mum all these years. Thanks Aunty. Prayers 7:00 p.m., Sunday, December 28 at Bardal Funeral Chapel, 843 Sherbrook St. at William. Funeral mass 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 29 at St. Patricks Roman Catholic Church, 168 Worth St. with Fr. Marc Monforton officiating. Interment Brookside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Doug, Ken, Ryan, Patrick, Shawn Brennan and nephew Dennis Conger. In lieu of flowers, should friends so desire, donations may be made to the CNIB, 1080 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 3R3. Mums favourite prayer was the Rosary. Please remember her in your prayers. "May the soft winds of love blow softly, and whisper so you can hear, That we will always love and miss you Mum and wish that you were here. Your loving family.
