ISABELLA JUNE TAYLOR (CRUICKSHANK) (GOODMAN) June 11, 1929 - December 19, 2003 Bella passed away peacefully, at Health Sciences Centre, with her family at her side. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Jack, her children John, Sandra and Isabel, daughter-in-law Lonni, her grandchildren James, Kristina, Catherine, Luke, Emily and Fiona, and her first husband Alex Cruickshank. She will also be greatly missed by her sisters, Solly, Julie, Disa, Anna, Ruby, Margie, Frida and Jeannie; her brother Don; her extended family, Amy and Harvey Zacharias, Vic and Debbie Taylor, Fay Taylor and Gary Thompson, Celeste Taylor, Kathy Taylor, Nancy and George Hamilton, and all of their children who always looked forward to spending time with Grandma Bella. Bella was born in Winnipeg and grew up on Madison Street in St. James where, with her brothers and sisters, she worked along side her father in the Goodman Canoe and Boat Works shop. Because of her love and compassion for people she entered nursing school at Grace General Hospital, on Arlington Street, where she graduated as an R.N. in 1952. Bella was the winner of the Nursing Obstetrics Medal. She worked as a nurse until her retirement and then continued to share herself, as a volunteer, wherever she thought she could help people. Every one she touched will remember her kindness and generosity. Thank you to the nurses and staff at Health Sciences Centre who assisted her during her final days. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Winnipeg Harvest.
