ALBINA AIELLO (nee AUDINO) It is with deep sadness and profound consternation that the family announces the passing of Albina at the age of 70 years. After a lengthy illness, she was called to the heavenly father on December 20, 2003 at St. Boniface Hospital. Albina will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her husband of 48 years, Mario Aiello; sisters, Domenica Sacco (Giuseppe) and Rosina Gigliotti; brothers, Antonio and Mario Audino (Josie) brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Maria Aiello and a myriad of nephews and nieces, grandnephews and grandnieces, too numerous to mention. Albina was predeceased by her parents, Vincenzo and Felicia; parents-in-law, Vincenzo and Angelina Aiello; sisters-in-law, Maria Aiello and Fiorenza Audino; brothers-in-law, Vitaliano Gigliotti and Francesco Aiello. Albina was born in S. Mango dAquino, Catanzaro, Italy, on April 23, 1933. In her adolescence years, she acquired a keen interest in fashion and by the age of 20 she was an accomplished seamstress. In 1956, she immigrated to Winnipeg to join her husband Mario Aiello. In keeping with her occupation in Italy, she worked in the garment industry for many years as a sewing machine operator. A gentle and simple soul, Albina was a devoted wife, caring sister and supportive aunt. Although she didnt have children of her own, she extended her innate motherly love and proverbial generosity to the large number of nephews and nieces of whom she was extremely proud and always concerned as to their well being and whereabouts. Cooking and baking were her passion; sharing was her trade mark; her happiest moments were when she was surrounded by her family and friends. On Albinas behalf, the family wishes to recognize the staff of B5 at St. Boniface Hospital for their professional and compassionate care. Also, a special thank you to our many relatives and friends for their overwhelming demonstration of affection and support. Viewing will take place on Monday, December 22, 6:00 p.m., in the Garry Memorial Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Blvd. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, December 23, 10:00 a.m., Holy Rosary Church, 510 River Ave., Reverend Fr. Sam Argenziano presiding. Entombment will follow at Waverley Mausoleum, 1501 Waverley St. Pallbearers will be nephews, Remo Aiello, Tony Sacco, Vince Audino, Enzo Gigliotti, Mario Aiello and Vincenzo Audino. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, 675 McDermot, R3E 0V9; or Italian Canadian Foundation, 1055 Wilkes Ave., R3P 2L7. Even though you left us, you will live in our hearts for ever. Riposa in pace; tu sei per noi la piu bella del mondo.
