Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryCHRISTOPHER "CHRIS" BASCHUK It is with profound shock and sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Chris Baschuk in the early morning of Sunday, December 21, 2003 after a 48 hour battle, with a massive heart attack, at the St. Boniface Hospital. Chris was only 56 years of age. Chris is survived by his loving wife Nettie (nee Friesen) of 33 great years; daughter Colleen (Craig) Riddell of Warren, MB; and son Brent; parents, Nick and Sophie Baschuk of Dauphin, MB; brothers, Ron (Anita) and their sons, Stephen and Kevin of Denare Beach, SK, brother Russell (Norma) and children, Jessica and Matthew. Chris is also survived by many precious nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and his Godchildren, Karen and Cheryl. He was predeceased by his in-laws, Cornelius and Aganetha Friesen. Chris was born March 6, 1947 in Flin Flon, MB. He came to Winnipeg at the age of 18 to attend Winnipeg College. He met Nettie while attending College and they were married June 5, 1971. Chris was currently employed with Agricore United (UGG) for over 21 years. Chris loved curling, both as a player and a fan. Chris and Nettie travelled to many Briers and World Curling Championships. They also enjoyed travelling to various hot spots across North America. They both enjoyed camping, especially with the "Feed Lot". Dancing was also a favourite past time. Family and friends meant the world to him. A celebration of Chriss life will take place on Wednesday, December 24 at 10:00 a.m. at Klassen Funeral Chapel, 1897 Henderson Hwy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Chriss memory to Seven Oaks Hospital, 2300 McPhillips St., Winnipeg, MB R2V 3M3 or St. Boniface Hospital, 409 Tache Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2H 2A6. The family would like to thank all the staff at Seven Oaks Hospital and the St. Boniface Hospital for all their care and kindness during this difficult time.
