MURIEL MARTHA BURR (TODD) November 27, 1919 - December 19, 2003 It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Muriel, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, at St. Boniface Hospital. She is survived by her husband Vincent; her daughter Catherine; son-in-law Karl Purchase; grandson Matthew; and her son Angus. She was predeceased by a daughter Mary Geraldine at birth; and by her siblings, Alan Todd, Dorothy Sheppard, Kay Bardal and Evelyn Rogers. Muriel graduated as a registered nurse from the Childrens Hospital and after several years raising her family, she returned to her profession and nursed at the Rehabilitation Hospital. She volunteered for many groups within her community including Rivercrest United Church, Cub and Scout troops and at the West St. Paul School as a teachers aide. She maintained a large and beautiful flower garden and also enjoyed traveling and painting. Muriel will be remembered for her caring and helpfulness to all, her sense of fun and adventure and her determination and creativity. She will be deeply missed. The familys heartfelt thanks go to the many friends and acquaintances who have given their support and kind words during this difficult time. The familys heartfelt thanks also go to the staff on Ward 6A and CancerCare Manitoba at St. Boniface Hospital. At Muriels request, cremation has taken place and a private family service will follow.
