Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryOLGA (OLLIE) BINDA On Monday, December 22, 2003 at Seven Oaks General Hospital, Olga (Ollie) Binda, aged 69 years of Selkirk peacefully passed away with her family at her side. She was predeceased by her loving husband Paul (Peppino) in 1985 and her parents, Francis and Michael Kuzniak of Oakburn, MB. She is survived by her children, Linda (Wayne) Smith of Woodlands, Rick (Michelle) Binda of East Selkirk, Grant (Heather) Binda of Gimli and Glen (Brenda) Binda of The Pas. She also leaves to mourn her grandchildren, Daniel, Jennifer, Heather, Adam, Aaron, Michael, Matthew, Paul and Braeden and her sister Rose (late Ron) Barry, Nellie (Adam) Chicheluk and brother Peter (Judy) Kuzniak and many nieces and nephews. Moms greatest pride and joy in life were her husband, children and grandchildren. Mom was very proud of her children and their accomplishments if life and her grandchildren were a sparkle in her life. Olga was born in Vermillion Bay and received her education in Oakburn, MB. She was a smart girl who also learned the skill of welding from her father and worked beside him until she left home to work in Winnipeg. Winnipeg was where she met and married her husband Paul of 33 years. In 1972 the opportunity arose to move the family to Gimli where they watched their children flourish. Olga shared her home and many talents (needlework and ceramics and sewing) with family and friends. She opened her door to everyone and volunteered willingly for community needs. Mom had a wonderful enthusiasm and energy for life. Christmas was her favorite time of the year where Santa always managed to make a special visit in person. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held at a later date. Special thanks to her nurse Karen, and Stella and the rest of the homecare workers. The family would also like to thank the staff at the Dialysis Units at Seven Oaks Hospital and Health Sciences Centre and especially the nurses and doctors on Unit 5 at Seven Oaks Hospital whos constant commitment was to ensure her care and comfort. Mom was also thankful to Dr. Bernstein and his staff as well as Dr. Bedi and his staff for the years of dedication and care. In lieu of flowers, should friends and family so desire, donations may be made in Olgas memory to the Renal Unit of the Dialysis Department at Seven Oaks Hospital. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
