GERTRUDE CLAEYS (nee SOWERBY) It is with great sadness, the family announces the passing of Gertrude Claeys on Monday, December 22, 2003 at the Oakview Place Care Home, at the age of 79 years. Gertie was born in Winnipeg, MB on September 23, 1924. She will be missed by her husband William "Bill" of 55 years; her son Randy (Penny) grandchildren, Gregory, Dana and Jeffery; sister-in-law Bertha Claeys; sister and brother-in-law, Angela and Gerry Cloutier and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Roger and Alice Claeys; nephew Art Cuddeford and niece Joanne Ford and Donna and many other nieces, nephews and godchild David. She was predeceased by her father Joseph; mother Gertrude; son Gerald accidently in Alberta; sister and brother-in-law, Georgina and Hubert Cuddeford and brother Joseph in Naples in 1944. Gertrude enjoyed the many summers at their cottage at Grand Beach, visits with her grandchildren, dancing and trips with Bill to the U.S.A. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects one hour prior to the service. A funeral service celebrating Gertrudes life will be held on Saturday, December 27 at 10:00 a.m. in the Edward J. Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street with interment to follow in the Belgium Sacred Heart Cemetery.
