SYLVIA HELENE DOUGLAS (nee RICHTER) It is with great sadness, and thankfulness that Sylvia passed on to a better life after a fight with melanoma. God was smiling on our Angel, allowing her to pass peacefully in the early morning hours of December 20, 2003 with her family by her side. Sylvia was born in Grenfell, SK, on February 13, 1952, growing up on a farm until moving to Broadview and then Regina. She met her soul mate, Randy Douglas, in Winnipeg in 1967, marrying on September 5, 1970. For 33 years they built a life together that many would envy, travelling Canada and the world, showing love and compassion to all they met. Love in fact was the centre of their relationship and their home as they raised two beautiful children, Sandra and Jason. Sylvia is survived by her daughter Sandra, son-in-law Frank Lozanski, son Jason, her mother Anita, father Otto Richter, and stepfather Lawrence Murphy, sister Lynda, brother-in-law David Yamada, and brothers, Leonard, sister-in-law Steffi, Norman, sister-in-law Yvonne, Lyndon and sister-in-law Beverly, numerous nieces, nephews and grandchildren. Her life was full of friendships, so many that she lived a full and happy life. Her only regret being that she had to leave her grandchildren, Joshua, Jessie and Mackenzie without a grandmother so early on in their lives. Our hearts and thanks go out to all her relatives and friends that have been touched by her passing and have comforted Randy and their children. There will be a service at the Sands Funeral Chapel, 317 Goldstream St., Victoria, BC at 7:00 p.m., December 23, with a reception to follow.
