GEORGE W. ENNS 1916 - 2003 On Monday, December 22, 2003 at the Boundary Trails Health Centre, George W. Enns, aged 87 years of Winkler, MB went to his eternal rest. Mr. Enns was born June 11, 1916 in Greenfarm, MB and was baptized in the Plum Coulee Bergthaler Mennonite Church by Bishop Schulz on June 5, 1938. He farmed there until 1956 at which time he and his family moved to a property he named, "Sunny Acres", Northwest of Winkler. In 1971, they retired to Winkler. George was very active with the Stanley Agricultural Society, Winkler School Board, the M.C.C. Store and M.D.S. (Mennonite Disaster Service). He enjoyed being the leader of a brass band in the early years, as well as playing and tuning pianos. He and his brothers were very active in the construction projects with the Bergthaler Mennonite Church in Winkler. He leaves to mourn his beloved wife Agnes Enns (nee Reimer) of Winkler; three daughters, Judith and Dan Sawatzky of Winkler and their two children, Donna and Mark Hall, Marc Sawatzky and Brigitte Allec; Norma and John Pauls of Lancaster, PA, USA and their two children, Tara and David Pauls and wife Nancy Clarke; Merle and Vic Huebner of New York, NY and their three children, Anthony, Paul and Heather and husband Bill Haughey; three sons Don and Kathy Enns of Birds Hill, MB and their three children, Christopher, Candice and Cory; Wayne and Elaine Enns of Winnipeg and their two children, Robyn and Ryan; Dave and Ray Enns of Libau, MB and their two children, Vanessa and Derek Ash and Jamie and Tammy Enns; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Jaden Enns; and one brother Peter W. Enns of Winkler, MB. He was predeceased by one son Johnny Enns (1956) one sister and six brothers. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bergthaler Mennonite Church, Winkler, with Rev. Peter Penner and Rev. Arnie Neufeld officiating. Interment will follow at the Winkler Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial donations may be made to M.C.C. 134 Plaza Dr. Winnipeg, MB R3T 5K9.
