CATHERINE (KAY) ELIZA MOIR (nee WILLIAMS) April 15, 1913 - December 22, 2003 It is with sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Kay Moir at Riverview Health Centre. Kay will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by her four children, Dr. Roger Moir (Colleen), Mrs. Corin Raine (Albert), Mr. Roy Moir (Sherry) and Mrs. Holly Giesbrecht (Herman) and her grandchildren, Courtney and Hilary Moir, Shannon (fiance Ken Lotocki) and Matthew Raine, Kelly and Christy Houston. She is also survived by her sister Vivian Bothe and son Ron Bothe (Sherrie). As well as sisters-in-law, Mrs. Lillian Moir and Mrs. Erin Moir and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Robert Arthur and Mary Kate Williams, and Bruce her beloved husband of 57 years. Kay was born and resided in Winnipeg her entire life. She attended Daniel Macintyre Collegiate graduating in 1932. In 1940, she married Bruce and they moved to the Riverview area where they raised their family. Kay was active in the community, bowling and curling with the local leagues. She enjoyed a long association with the Womans Auxiliary of the Manitoba Pharmaceutical Association. Some of Kays favourite pastimes included, cottage life at Clearwater Bay, and daily walks with her dogs. Kay was a kind, caring, and fun loving person. She delighted in her children and grandchildren and was proud of their many accomplishments. She had a wonderful sense of humour and enjoyed many long friendships. Her love of animals was seen in the many dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters, and goldfish that shared her home and heart during her lifetime. The family wishes to express our heartfelt thanks to the staff of CD4 at the Riverview Health Centre for their kind, compassionate and loving care. You truly made Mum feel "at home". A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, December 27 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garry Memorial Funeral Home. 1291 McGillivray Blvd. A private family interment will take place in Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens at a later date.
