Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryPHILLIP DAVID KEAM November 3, 1946 - December 23, 2003 Peacefully, on December 23, 2003 surrounded by his loving family, Phillip passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital. Dad was greatly loved, and will be dearly missed by his wife of 32 years, Diane Keam; daughters, Jacqueline (Rodney Lantain), and Vickie; son Darren and daughter-in-law Danette; his brothers, Gary and Les Keam, nine nephews and one niece, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. Dad was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mary Keam. Dad was born on November 3, 1946 and lived in the Lorette area until his early 20s when he met his wife Diane and built a wonderful home for his family north of Lorette. This is where they made a good life on an acreage lot and raised three fine children. Dad was actively involved as a parent in the Dugald 4-H club, the Dugald United Church and community politics. He was also actively involved as a competition judge in the Southeast horse-pulling club of Manitoba. Dad worked for a number of historic companies in Winnipeg until he took ill with kidney disease. Dad lived bravely with kidney disease for 20 years; in 1995 he successfully received a kidney transplant for a year. Dad volunteered as a canvasser for the Manitoba Kidney Foundation for many years. During his shut-in years, Dad also researched his family genealogy, this allowed him to contact many extended and distant family members. Dad took great pride in his familys achievements and interests, with weekly phone calls or Sunday brunches, Dad kept everyone in touch. Dad loved to offer a helping hand whenever or however he could to family, friends and neighbours, especially during harvest when he would operate field equipment. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, December 31 at 1:00 p.m. in the Green Acres Funeral Chapel, Hwy. #1 East at Navin Road. Interment will follow in Green Acres Memorial Gardens. Luncheon to follow at the Dugald Community Hall, Holland Street. The family would like to send a special thanks to the home care workers, and the St. Boniface Hospital Dialysis Unit. We would also like to make a special thank you to all the friends, family and community members who helped him in times of need. In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, donations may be made in Phils memory to the Manitoba Kidney Foundation, 730 Taylor Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3M 2K8, (Phone 989-0800). Rest in peace, Dad, we will always miss you. GREEN ACRES Funeral Home, Cemetery and Crematorium Hwy. #1 E. at Navin, 222-3241
