WILLIAM (BILL) HENRY JACKSON Peacefully, Bill Jackson passed away at Concordia Hospital, Winnipeg, on December 22, 2003 with his family at his side. His memory will be cherished by his daughters, Elinor Elizabeth (Scott) Osinski and Lorna Mary (Ron) Coley; grandchildren, Ann-Marie Osinski, Jeffrey (Michelle) Osinski, Kimberley Salmon and Janet, Christine and Andrea Clark; and great-grandchildren, Tiffany Osinski and Quaid Clark. He is survived by his sisters, Lillian and Mabel and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife Jean; his brothers, Dan, Walter and Freddie; and sisters, Margaret and Anne. Bill was born in Pine Ridge, MB, where he spent his early years. While living in South Transcona, he met Jean Duncan and they spent their entire married life in Transcona. He was employed with Canadian National Railways for 39 years as a pipe fitter. He was a skilled handyman and took great pride in helping family and friends solve their repair problems. He was a member and an honorary elder of Transcona Memorial United Church, a volunteer workman during its construction and with the community food bank. Bill was an avid gardener and was very proud of his awards from the Transcona Horticultural Society. He especially loved and cherished the time that he spent with his family at this cottage at Nora Lake in Whiteshell Provincial Park. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 29 at Transcona Memorial United Church, 209 Yale Ave. West, with Rev. Carol Fletcher and Rev. Jeff Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Transcona Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of Transcona Memorial United Church. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the staff and management of East Park Lodge for their kindness and support Our father and grandfather was the foundation of our family. We will always cherish the love and security that he gave to us. He will be forever missed. Transcona Funeral Chapel in care of arrangements.
