OTTO KUNZELMAN Just after sunset on the shortest day of the year, December 21, 2003, Otto William Kunzelman passed away peacefully in his sleep. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Carol of Winnipeg; daughters, Marjorie (Douglas) Fortier of West St. Paul, Linda (Robert) Staines of Coquitlam, BC, and Louise Thomas of Winnipeg; son Warren (Eileen Peters) Kunzelman of Gladstone; and grandchildren, Jordan, Dagny, and Dena Kunzelman, Jade Thomas, and Holly, Kyle and Tanner Peters. He is also survived by sister Pauline Wutke; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jim and Vida Hill. He was predeceased by his parents John and Emily; sister Elizabeth, and brother Rudolph. Born near Plumas, MB to John and Emily Kunzelman, Otto lived and worked there until 1942 when he married Carol Hill and they moved to the Pembroke district near Gladstone, MB. Together, they built up a successful grain and cattle farm. They retired in Gladstone and moved to Winnipeg in 2000. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff of Kildonan Personal Care Home for their care, concern and understanding. Cremation has taken place and a private family service was held on December 23, 2003. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice. This for the day of life I asked, Some all-absorbing useful task, And when tis wholly, truly done, A tranquil rest at set of sun.
