WILLIAM ALBERT SCHMIDT February 16, 1923 - December 26, 2003 Sadly, Dad passed away at his home in Beausejour, where he lived a very full and happy life. He leaves behind his wife Esther (nee Martin) daughters, Terryl Craigon and Jacqueline Schmidt; and granddaughters, Tracey and Tara Craigon. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Whilamena and Edward Schmidt; brothers, Chris, Ronald, Louie, Harry, Eric, Sam, Eddy; and sisters, Marge and Ollie. Dad also left behind many other dear family members and friends. Dad was a very talented plumber (commonly referred to as the "Plumber" in Beausejour), owned his own business in Beausejour for six years and retired from the military base in Milner Ridge. He was also a member of the Order of Foresters. Since retirement, he spent many enjoyable hours with his family and friends at the cottage, fishing, fixing and relaxing. Dad was and always will be a great husband, father, grandfather and staunch friend. He may be gone in body but he will always live in our hearts. We love you Dad. The family wishes to thank the home care staff in Beausejour for their support and in particular Scott, Lorraine and Judy for their attentiveness, compassion and patience. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 31 at 2:00 p.m. from Russell Funeral Home, Beausejour, MB with Rev. Hugh Laidlaw officiating. Interment will be in the Beausejour Cemetery. If friends so desire memorial donations in his memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB. RUSSELLS of Beausejour, Manitoba are in care of arrangements.
