Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryWILLIAM EWART GLADSTONE It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of William Ewart Gladstone, Saturday, December 27, 2003. Bill was 57. He is survived by son Chris; brother Robert and his wife Jan; nieces and nephews, Renee, Crista, Bobby and Amy; mother-in-law Gloria; sister-in-law Terry and her husband Jack; brother-in-law Robert and his wife Jonelle; nephews, Tyrel and Troy; as well as our extended family Lynne and her children, Bryan, Crystal and Allison. He was predeceased by loving wife Vicky; mother Hazel and father-in-law James. Bill was born in Prince Albert, SK to mother Hazel and father Robert. Bill never knew his father, yet he loved life with his small family consisting of his mother and brother. He was both brother and father figure to Bob, and helped his mother tremendously to ease her burden any way he could. As a child, Bills great love was swimming. As a young man, Bill moved with his family to Brandon, MB where he attended Brandon University. He subsequently moved to Winnipeg and followed in his mothers footsteps, working in the hospitality industry. His business was food and beverage management and he worked for many companies over the years. He managed the Lincoln Hotel up until three months before his death. Bill married Vicky in 1971, and was blessed with only child, son Chris in 1977. He had many constructive hobbies and his great passion was baseball and fastball. Bill touched people wherever he went. His kindness, compassion, humour and wisdom were seen by all who knew him. He was especially close to Vicky and Chris. The last two years of Bills life were difficult. Vicky died of cancer only five months ago. Bill himself had been on 24 hour oxygen support for a year. He ultimately died of a rare lung fibrosis, waiting for a transplant that never came. Bill had a wonderful life, full of fun and love. He is with Vicky now, free of suffering. All who knew him will cherish his memory forever.
