Born: May 08, 1910
Date of Passing: Dec 27, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJULIA MANSKY Peacefully, on December 27, 2003, Julia Mansky, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away at the Kildonan Personal Care Centre, at the age of 93 years. Her husband Ralph predeceased Julia in 1966. Brothers, Joe Kolish and Michael Kolish also predeceased her. Julia will be lovingly remembered by son Roland (Marlene) Mansky and grandson Bryan (Pam) Mansky; daughter Joyce (Jim) Rennie and granddaughter Sharon (Barry) Cherpako and grandson Allan (Susan Bodnar) Rennie; and her much loved six great-grandchildren. Her sister Ann Sandrk; cousins, Helen Ellis, Ann Hucal and numerous nieces and nephews, will also remember her. Julia was born in Winnipeg on May 8, 1910, and lived in Winnipeg all her life. She and Ralph married in 1931 and resided in Elmwood. After Ralph passed away, Julia remained in the family home until 1999 when she moved to an apartment in North Kildonan. Mom was a happy, independent woman who worked for Ogilvie Flour Mills for 20 years and after her retirement went on her first and only plane ride to Hawaii. She had a great love of gardening, cooking, baking, crocheting and knitting from which we all benefited. Mom also loved her cottage at Pinawa Bay where many happy days were spent with family and friends. She particularly enjoyed fishing and picking blueberries. Julia never learned to drive but travelled regularly by bus to Eatons downtown, her favourite store. Mom loved us all unconditionally and we will remember all the Sunday dinners and good times we shared. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff of the Kildonan Personal Care Centre. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, at 2:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in Julias memory may be made to a charity of their choice. Blessed are the people who take time to understand, Who always can be counted on to lend a helping hand. Blessed are the people who have faith in God above, For they bless others every day with kindness and with love. CROPO FUNERAL CHAPEL 586-8044

My auntie Junie, as my brothers and i called her, was a one of a kind. Strong, kind, independent woman...who treated myself like a king, when I was a kid. her baking, taking me fishing...I will never forget. It was my first chance to go in a boat, and I loved when my Grandpa and Baba (her sister) would take us to her cabin at Pinawa Bay. Just a beautiful woman... memories I will cherish forever.. So sorry for your loss of a great Grandma Sharon, Allan, Bryan.
