Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryHAROLD STANLEY FEHR (ne WALTER BJIESEIEKAMP) January 2, 1931 - December 13, 2003 After a valiant struggle with cancer, Harold was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on December 13, 2003 at the age of 72. Besides his loving wife Nancy of 47 years; he is also remembered by his son James; daughter Candace (Rick Twaddle) and special grandson Josh. He is survived by sister Leona (Ken Sorenson) of Victoria Beach, MB; brother John (Marlene) of Brandon, MB and step-mother Mary of Morden, MB. Harold was predeceased by his adoptive parents, John and Margaret Fehr (nee Leoppky) of Altona, MB. Harold was born on January 2, 1931 in Winnipeg, MB, spending his early years in Rosenfeld, Plum Coulee and Altona. At age 17, he had his first teaching assignment near McCreary, MB. He attended Teachers College (Normal School) as well as the University of Manitoba earning a B.A and B.Ed. Various teaching assignments across rural Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Winnipeg ended with a Centennial Project move to Calgary in 1967. Harold taught at Van Horne, Crescent Heights and Forest Lawn High Schools, retiring in 1993 after 40 years. Harold had a passion for military books and memorabilia. This led to membership in the Calgary Military Historical Society and many research and antiquing trips across Europe, the US and Western Canada. He was also a long-time supporter of Hockey Ministries International Summer Camps where kids came to play hockey and learn about Christ. Dad was happiest during his 52 summers at Clear Lake, MB; reading a good book, listening to swing music, enjoying coffee with friends and family, canoeing and watching the sunsets. Dads never ending love, patience and gentle guidance were the strength of our family. He lived with the confidence that his Heavenly Father had a purpose for his life and an eternal home waiting for him. We will miss Dad dearly but know that someday we will be together again. A Celebration of Life will be held at Hawkwood Baptist Fellowship (20 Hawkwood Drive NW, Calgary) on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alberta Cancer Foundation (c/o Tom Baker Cancer Centre, 1331-29 St. NW, Calgary AB T2N 4N2). Special thanks to the Caregivers of Home Care and ComCare Health Services for their devoted support. PERSONAL ALTERNATIVE FUNERAL SERVICES, Calgary, AB 1-888-216-5111

Harold Fehr was my grade 5 and grade 7 teacher. I had great respect for him as a teacher and person. I spent time at Clear Lake in the summer one year and he was a ranger. He had such knowledge of life and living that has always stuck with me. I was saddened to hear of his passing.
