Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDONALD BRUCE LAMB 1932 - 2003 On December 26, 2003, with his family by his side, Donald Bruce Lamb, aged 71 years, passed away at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa, ON. Donald (Donnie) was born in The Pas, MB, October 12, 1932, the second oldest son of the late Tom and Jennie Lamb and was predeceased by his twin brother Denis. Surviving Donnie is his much loved wife of 49 years Beverley; son Todd (Marianne) grandchildren, Julia and Thomas of Ottawa, ON; daughter Meredith (Jim Thielen) of Parish, FL; step-grandsons, Patrick, Andrew and Phillip Thielen. Donnie resided in The Pas all his life until failing health caused he and Beverley to relocate to Ottawa in October, 2002 to be near their son. Donnie spent his life as a bush pilot, rancher, prospector, businessman and adventurer but above all a wonderful father and husband. He loved the north and always had many stories of his world travels and adventures. He will be remembered flying the Norseman or the Otter, hauling fish and supplies with a tractor train or as the Captain of the Skippy L on the Saskatchewan River or operating the dragline. He made numerous mercy flights in Northern Canada, panned for gold, rode elephants in India, walked on the Great Wall of China and went on Safaris in Africa. He was always ready for a trip. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shriners Club and the Royal Canadian Legion. He is survived by the remaining Lamb boys, his brothers, Greg (Verna), Jack (Barb), Doug (Vasti), Conrad (Nancy) and his sisters, Sheila Lee (Jim), Carol McAree (Jock) and Skippy Gibson; his uncle Bert Lamb; aunt Carol Hoffas; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be held at the Christ Anglican Church in The Pas at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
