JAMES (JIM) R. MARK
Born: Nov 28, 1947
Date of Passing: Dec 28, 2003
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJAMES (JIM) R. MARK It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing, on Sunday, December 28, 2003, of our loving husband and father. Jim was survived by the women he loved, Emily; his four beautiful daughters, Trisha (Wayne), Rhonda (Sean), Heather (Bill), and Amanda "Mandy Pandy"; stepchildren and their families, Kevin (Heather), Dan (Colleen) and Robyn; his sister Judy (Tino) along with his wonderful grandchildren, Justine, Mason, Olivia, Payton, Laura, Ryne and Raisa. Jim was predeceased by his father William, mother Bernice, and brother Bill. Jim was born on November 28, 1947 in Winnipeg. He grew up in the "North End", with many fond memories. As a teenager he was enlisted in the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders. He married and moved to Calgary briefly in the early 1970s. During his time in Calgary he began his love of auto racing and was able to achieve his dream of racing sprint cars. Upon his return to Winnipeg, he started driving bus for the City of Winnipeg. During his 28 year career he had worked his way to the Control Centre, where he ended his love/hate relationship with Transit. Jim coached his daughters in baseball for many years and loved to participate with them later with a group from transit. He was part of the Transit Hockey League and Transit Curling League for several years, and had many crazy stories he loved to tell around a camp fire. He loved the outdoors, this loved was shown on many camping trips with his family, trips through western Canada, and later at the trailer he always wanted in Bow Lake, ON. Jim had his most recent taste of the great outdoors with the beautiful property and home he and Emily shared in Cooks Creek. Jim was able to learn the joys and work involved in raising several dogs, horses and even his cat Rodney. To those who didnt know him well, he came across as a sarcastic SOB, but to those of us that loved him, we knew the caring, loving, trusted friend who would help anyone he could and, with a smile, would give you a hard time and the shirt off his back. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and there will be a celebration of his life held on Friday, January 2, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. at the Masonic Temple, 420 Corydon at Osborne. If friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in Jims memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200
