CECIL THOMAS MASSEY While surrounded by his family, Cecil Thomas Massey died on Friday, December 26, 2003 at 2:50 p.m. at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. Cecil is survived by his wife Evelyn (44 years married) daughters, Theresa and Belinda; son Daniel; son-in-law David; grandchildren, Shelly, Alexander (Axelander), James, Brett, Victoria, Courtney (Sam) step grandchildren, William, Paul, Robin; brothers, Kenneth and Phillip (Buddie) sisters, Helen and Cecilia (Auntie Mo-Mo) plus many relations and friends. Cecil (aka Danny) was born on August 19, 1936 in Selkirk, MB and many of his family members were/are from the Red River area, where they have had a strong community presence over the years. In August 1957, Cecil moved to Winnipeg and began employment with Winnipeg Photo as a delivery boy, on a bicycle. Eventually he worked his way upward to the supervisory position in the professional enlargement department. In total, Cecil gave 37 loyal years to his employer. After retirement, he stayed in Winnipeg with Evelyn and worked seemingly non-stop on his familys genealogy, which resulted in the first "Massey Family Reunion" in August 2002, at Selkirk. A memorial service will be held at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. Wednesday, December 31 at 12:30 p.m. Interpreter provided. The Massey family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Surgical Intensive Care Unit staff, of the Health Sciences Centre.
