JONAS NORDAL Peacefully on December 27, 2003, our Dad, Afi and Langafi passed away at the Arborg Personal Care Home. Jonas was born May 8, 1909 in Geysir, MB. On May 23, 1936 he married Maria, the love of his life. They had three children, Richard (Jona) and their children, Roxanne, Greg (Pam), Natalie (Mark) Clifford (Patty) of London, ON and their daughters, Kirsty and Lindsey; Marlene Taylor (Dave) of Winnipeg and children, Jonathan (Candace), Kristen. He had numerous great-grandchildren and had many enjoyable visits with them. He was a farmer and after retirement he fulfilled a dream of working with wood on a lathe. Jonas served on many boards including Arborg Co-op, Credit Union, Unitarian Church, Island School and Geysir Hall. He is survived by his brother Einar and sisters, Lillo and Johanna. He was predeceased by his beloved Maria; brother Mundi and sister Florence; his parents, Jon and Valla Nordal and in-laws, Jon and Disa Thorsteinson. Dad felt very lucky to have his family but we were the lucky ones. Our family is so grateful for the wonderful day we spent together at Natalie and Marks home on December 26, 2003. A special thanks to Dr. Van Wyk and the staff at the Personal Care Home, especially Cindy. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Arborg Personal Care Home. Mom and Dad are once again dancing together. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3 at the Arborg Unitarian Church with Sylvia Sigurdson officiating.
