JOSEPH (JOE) TYMCHYZN February 16, 1919- December 28, 2003 Sunday, December 28, 2003, peacefully in his sleep, Joseph Tymchyzn passed into Eternal Life. Joe leaves to mourn his passing his beloved wife and friend of 61 years, Olga. Also left to mourn are his niece and goddaughter, Shirley Lisowski and husband Joe; special great-nephew and godson, Michael Lisowski and wife Cheryl; special great-nephew David Lisowski and wife Tamara; sister-in-law Josie Field, all of Winnipeg; sister-in-law Anne Guly of California; numerous nieces, nephews and their families. Joe was predeceased by his parents; brother Walter; sisters, Ruth, Anne and Nettie. Joe served in the Armed Forces during the Second World War. He was an employee of the Canadian National Railway since 1944, retiring in 1980 from positions as Brakeman and Conductor. Joe was a long time member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church where he was an active member and past-president of the Mens Club and St. Nicks Seniors Club, and sang in the choir. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, St. Josaphat Council, a member of the Dumka and Millennium Choirs and a member of the Royal Canadian Ukrainian Legion, Branch 141. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 2, 2004, at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Ave., with a Basilian Father officiating. Interment will follow in Holy Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joes memory may be made to St. Nicholas Building Fund or a charity of ones choice.
