ELDA KIRTON (nee SIMPSON) Following courageous encounters with several maladies most would have surrendered to with far less resistance, Elda passed away peacefully at home in the eleventh hour of December 28, 2003. One of her physicians had thoughtfully referred to her as an "amazing lady". She is survived by those who loved her most dearly: her husband of forty-five years, Norman; daughter Janice (Jim, Morgan, Katie) sons, Derek (Gabriella, Ariane, Dante), Greg (Rhonda, Damian, Candace) and her son Troy; several nieces, nephews and special friends. Elda is also survived by her mother Mary Simpson; brother Harvey Simpson (Janet) and sister Marlene Trout. Elda was predeceased by her father Albert Simpson, her son Dean, and her niece Susan. Elda lived life as if it was a game of bridge with such finesse, always overcoming obstacles along the way. Her fondest childhood memories were spent with the twins in Dauphin, where she was raised and later met her husband Norm. Dedicating her life at home, Elda was always boasting and beaming with immense pride about the successes of her children. In the addition to her focus to her husband and children, she shared many warm memories with her best friend Marion in Winnipeg and at the lake. Eldas family would like to especially thank the many health care professionals who cared for her and treated her most often as a person rather than a patient. Memorial service will be held on Friday, January 2, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, please support a charity of your own preference. Arrangements entrusted to: CHAPEL LAWN FUNERAL HOME CEMETERY AND CREMATORIUM 885-9715
