W. HILTON MacGREGOR Peacefully, on Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at the Seven Oaks Hospital, Hilton MacGregor, passed away after a short illness at the age of 88. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Phyllis; his only daughter Marilynn (Peter) Skromeda; three grandchildren, Him, Debbie and Warren (Veronica) Skromeda; five great-granddaughters, Brianna, Melissa, Hillary, Kirstyn and Julia; one brother John of Santa Maria, CA; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Archie and Annie; an older brother Colin of Halifax; and one sister Frances of Winnipeg. Hilton was born in Ellerslie, PEI and came to Manitoba with his family at the age of 11 and settled in St. Andrews, MB where he was a mink rancher for 30 years and enjoyed his work very much. He loved his cottage at Kenora and spent his summers there fishing and boating. Hilton was also a member of the Khartum Shriners 101 Unit, a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonery, the Masonic Lisgar Lodge of Selkirk and the Interlake Shrine Club. He also spent several years as the President of the P.C. Party of Springfield. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in the St. Andrews on the Red Anglican Church, St. Andrews, MB with Rev. Stephen Sharman officiating. Interment to follow in the Churchyard Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Parish of St. Andrews, 3 St. Andrews Rd., St. Andrews, MB R1A 2Y4. Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements.
