MARY GERTRUDE (TRUDY) NAUGLER October 28, 1924 - December 31, 2003 On Wednesday, December 31, 2003, our loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt passed into the hands of our Lord. Left to mourn her passing is her beloved husband Harry of almost 52 years; along with their children, Sharon (Brenda Adelman) Mary Anne Goheen (John) Tina Bramadat (Derek) - children, Janine, Katie, Carson; Kerry Fiks (Randy) - children, Amanda, Nicole, Tanis, Terri; and Scott (Dan Dutchin) brothers, Austin Scott (Doris) and Pat Scott; sisters-in-law, Mary Scott, Louise McLaughlin (Weezie) and Alice Paquette; brother-in-law Louis McLaughlin (Uncle Mick) step-grandchildren, Meghan and Ross; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Trudy was predeceased by her parents; brother Joe and brother-in-law Eugene Paquette (Uncle Bun). Trudy was born to Ed and Ethel Scott in Almont, ON on October 28, 1924 weighing a mere 2 lbs. With a strong will to live life, she thrived in a shoebox on an open oven door. She never looked back. Mom loved and welcomed every aspect of life that came her way. In 1952, she sang her way into the heart of her true soul mate and life time partner Harry. After their marriage on May 3, 1952, Mom began what she would say were the best years of her life. She raised five children with the utmost patience, love and understanding any parent could provide. As an accomplished musician, Trudy graduated from the Royal Conservatory of Music at the University of Toronto in voice, piano and theory. Moms true profession in life was teaching not only the elements of music, but the true love and passion music brings to ones soul. She expressed her love for music as Church organist, choir director and member, along with teaching voice, piano and theory for many years. Mom worked as a stenographer at Deer Lodge Hospital from 1975 to 1983 and retired from the RCMP payroll department in 1987. Since retirement, both Mom and Dad became part of a new family in Western Way Resort, Arizona. For the past ten years, they have enjoyed their winters living it up with the gang from down south. She will be truly missed by all who knew her and were warmed by her grace and charm. Some of the most memorable moments have been shared at the family cottage located at Grindstone National Park, MB. Built by the family in 1978, Mom enjoyed hours of sitting by the fire, playing Euchre, tending to her beautiful flowers, golfing at Hecla, singing and playing the piano with the family joining in. Prayers were held on Friday, January 2, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. in Blessed John XXIII Roman Catholic Church , 3390 Portage Ave. at Rouge Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today, Saturday, January 3 at 11:00 a.m., also in the church, with Rev. Msgr. Maurice Comeault, P.H.V.F. presiding and Rev. Msgr. Norman J. Chartrand, P.A. concelebrating. For those who wish, viewing will be held one hour prior to Mass. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made in Trudys memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. As we say goodbye for now, we thank you Mom for the example of all that is true and good in life. You have shown us how to live life to the fullest, enjoy all that life has to offer without judgment, trust in GODs way and love each other. Until we meet again Mom, WE LOVE YOU FOREVER!
