Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDWIN SAM JOHNSON June 11, 1925 - December 28, 2003 Born at Lettonia, MB to Edward and Emily Johnson. Sam worked in his youth at the Eldorado Mines. In Winnipeg he founded Johnson Bros. Mfg. Intl. Ltd. with his brother Arvid. He worked for the subsequent owner Dan Malnar, apparently retiring in 1995, and continued on as a senior consultant for the current owner Al Chin. In 1956 he married Susann Fawcett, the woman he adored, and they raised two children together. Sam travelled extensively and was very fond of their cabins, first at Brereton Lake and later at Lac du Bonnet. He never lost his love of the "bush". He will be greatly missed by his wife Susann, daughter Kathy (Jim McHugh), son Edward (Paul Couillard) and dog Brandy. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Kay and Hilda Johnson; nieces, Pat (Ralph Cochrane), Gay (John Kirby), Marlene (Coates), Donna (Jim Hanneson) and great nieces and nephews, Elizabeth, Albert, Jonathon, Jim, Helen and Elaine. He is predeceased by parents, Emily and Edward Johnson; brothers, Art, Albert and Arvid; sister-in-law Doris. The family would like to thank the many medical staff who attended Edwin, especially Riverview Health Centre 3 East. A memorial service will be held on Friday, January 23, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at Transcona Funeral Chapel, 1800 Day St., Winnipeg.
