CLIFFORD ORVIL (CLIFFIE) ASSELS Clifford Orvil (Cliffie) Assels, born August 5, 1920 in Osbourne, MB passed away on Wednesday, December 31, 2003 in Unit A, Cottonwoods Extended Care, with his wife by his side. Cliffie was a feisty but loving, caring husband, father, grandfather and friend. His family has always meant everything to him. Hes always enjoyed company, a good party, dancing and the many years of square dancing. The Assels appreciated the tender loving care, many acts of kindness, the hellos and hugs from all the staff in Cottonwoods. Thank you and God bless. Cliff is survived by his loving wife Vivian; sons, Gary, Ear Falls, ON, Brian (Lili), Adelaide, Australia; stepsons, Frank (Anne) and David (Mary Anne), all of Calgary, Stephen (Jolene), Kelowna; grandchildren, Angela (Sam), Jennifer, Mathew, Andrew, Melanie, Jeffery, Eric and Cody. Angelas mother Myrna (Mike) his dear sister Mildred Irene Ross, Winnipeg; sisters-in-law, Mary and Evelyn, Helen, Evelyn (Gary) brother-in-law Gordon; and many nieces, nephews, friends. Predeceased by his parents, Norman and Nora; brothers, Earl, Victor; and brother-in-law Howard; and his buddy George Nuytten. Funeral service Wednesday, January 7 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of First Memorial Funeral Services, Kelowna, BC.
